I could not have planned this better if I had tried. I was hoping to leave the world for a bit until
the investigation cooled down, and other scapegoats were found. A long flight to the colony on Tian Terra
Epsilon seemed like a good idea, along with hiding in that place, but the
captain of this ship struck me as the sort to turn me in if the authorities
traced me and sent him a message. But no
– my fears are unwarranted, and in the strangest and most amazing way: We are
currently travelling several times faster than such a message could possibly
travel.
Already, we are farther away from the Tian Terra system than
any living person has ever travelled (excluding travel via Gateways), and plan
to be gone for quite a while. It’s quite
possible that I could selflessly trade my spot on this ship, and stay on this
distant colony (or destination), living out my life in safety.
All that remains is to stay on everyone’s good side. I don’t expect any injuries beyond minor
accidents, but I suppose I am expected to prepare for the worse, so I will.
Nice to hear from one of the crew. Seems like an intelligent fellow...what kind of precautions did the doctor take so that this journal could not be read by anyone?
